Our Founder

Dimensional Dance Collective was founded by Maya Williams, a dancer, strategist, and creative entrepreneur who believes young dancers deserve the space and support to be intentional about their careers.

Maya grew up in the dance studio, training at her mother’s studio on Long Island and spending much of her childhood surrounded by dancers. Being in that environment showed her how powerful dance can be as a form of discipline, creativity, and community. As she got older, she also began to notice a gap. Opportunities for young dancers to connect with peers outside their own studio, build confidence, and learn about the broader dance industry were not always easy to access.

Maya’s path eventually took her outside of the dance world. She earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later an MBA from Columbia Business School before working in management consulting at McKinsey & Company. That experience gave her a deeper understanding of strategy, business, and how people build sustainable careers.

Over time, she realized the skills she learned could help dancers.

Dimensional Dance Collective grew out of Maya’s desire to create environments where dancers can explore their artistry while also gaining perspective on the many paths available to them. Through workshops, mentorship, and educational programming, Dimensional creates a supportive space for young dancers to build confidence, grow their industry knowledge, and start forming meaningful connections early in their journeys.

At the heart of Maya’s work is a simple belief. Young dancers should not feel like they have to walk away from their passions in order to build a stable future. With the right support, community, and knowledge, they can begin shaping intentional careers while staying connected to the art form they love.
